The Grin Outlives the Cat takes one of Wonderland’s strangest ideas and strips it down to what matters: the eyes are fading, the creature is already gone, but that impossible smile refuses to leave. A tiny red crown hidden among the teeth adds a quiet suggestion of ego, power, and mischief to something that has already outlived its owner.

It’s dark fairy-tale satire about reputation, memory, and the parts of us that linger after everything else has vanished. Sometimes the person disappears long before the story people tell about them does.

Rendered in Hard Mode IRL’s distressed dark-folklore style, the sparse bone-white grin emerges almost entirely from darkness, giving the design an eerie presence without overcrowding the shirt.
